Then read our blog on ‘how to help you achieve the best sale price’
When you’re thinking of selling your home that has either outgrown you, or you simply have for some reason ‘fallen out of love’ with it, there are important steps to take to maximise on the price you achieve.
Nowadays, it simply isn’t a wise decision to decide to put your house up for sale on Monday, and then have it on the market by Tuesday. This could seriously put you out of pocket.
Look around the house, in each room, especially the décor – does it require a coat of paint? Then onto how the room looks visually from the doorway – does it look cluttered? If so, consider removing some furniture or reposition things so that the area looks less cluttered, if there are too many possessions within the room, take some out and make it more minimalistic to the eye – a clean looking room is visually appealing to the eye. You are going to have to start to pack up things soon anyway!
Once you all the rooms in the house looking their best, ensure you think about the hallways and landings; it is now onto the outside.
Look at ‘the kerb side appeal’ – what I mean by this, is how attractive does your house look from the roadside. Have you cut the lawn, tidied up and pruned the tress to the front? Does your home look cared for or neglected? If it’s the latter, you really need to improve the front, as this could ultimately stop people wanting to view your home. As well as the front you will need to ensure the back garden has also been cut, and that trees, shrubs are looking their very best.
At Rosewood Property we can advise you on all the above, we don’t just simply come and give you a price on your property, we will help you with a lot more than that. Our experience dictates that we are here to achieve you the very best possible price. If part of that is helping to advise you on how to prepare your home for selling, then we are delighted too.
